Fall Tree

I'm so thankful for these cooler temps and the beginnings of Fall. I love Fall and I love making Fall décor.

Introducing my Fall tree.

Here's what I started with. I bought it here at Scrapbook.com. It's made by Kaiser Kraft. It's on clearance now for under $10.

It's 3 different pieces. I started by painting them all with brown acrylic paint.

Then I used a hexagon punch by Friskars to punch out hexagons from various orange and Fallish scrapbook papers.I glued them down with Zip Dry starting from the middle.

Then I put a layer of modge podge on the top of all pieces. To be honest, I think that using Zip Dry helped reduce wrinkling.

Come on Fall! Being in Texas makes me even more anxious for your arrival.

Eek! A Spider Web Wreath

This is my Halloween wreath from last season.....

I started with this wooden wreath from the $1 Store.

Spray painted it black.

Used a yarn called Cello in black (at Joann's, I think that's what it's called). You could also use Fun Fur but I like the Cello better because it's more wispy.

I used hot glue and a chip clip to hold it in place while it dried. I had other things going on, like dishes and dinner so I wasn't watching glue dry.

I had to use Zip Dry glue so I could use my fingers to attach the inside pieces.

Then I made the Eek! banner and used googly eyes inside the e's.

The spider....I used a pom-pom cut off of some pomp-pom sewing trim I had laying around, wrapped it in yarn.

Added googly eyes...

and made the legs from some ribbon that was very think and had a lot of body (all of this was spare stuff, laying around the house).

This is how it turned out. Not bad for spare parts and a $1 wreath .

My Gray and Dijon Collection

Now that school is finally under way, I can get back to my usual routine. So here is my other housewares collection that I worked on this summer. It's mostly shades of gray and Dijon mustard with black accents. It consists of pillow covers, a table runner, and hand towels.

There are a variety of sizes for the pillow covers: 12 x 16, 16 x 16, and 14 x 14.

The bunting is hand sewn on.

I used both flour sack cloth material and cotton woven fabrics for the hand towels.

The table runner is reversible. Both are the same color scheme but one side has more solid white to it.

Hopefully coming to my Etsy shop by the end of September!
